On July 23, 2020 Ambassador-Designate of Sri Lanka to Russia professor M.D. Lamawansa received Mr. Alexander Novokhatsky, Director General of Europa-Asia Trade LLC, Mr. Igor Strugov, Director of International Development Department, Europa-Asia Trade LLC, and Mr. Sergey Korsun, Assistant to the State Duma Depyty. Mr. Mohamed Anas, Counsellor and HOC, Ms. Nirosha Herath, Second Secretary (Political) and Ms. Chathurika Perera, Second Secretary (Commercial) were also present at the discussion.

Development of the economic projects focused on enhancing mutually beneficial trade relations between the countries were discussed during the meeting.

The Europa-Asia Trade delegation spoke about opportunities to attract large foreign capital to Sri Lanka and advantages of the collaborative work between the countries.
