On July 21, 2020 Ambassador-Designate of Sri Lanka to Russia H. E. Prof. M. D. Lamawansa received Mr. Evgeniy Stroganov, Chairman of the International Cooperation Committee of the Russian Union of Good Producers.

During the meeting H. E. Prof. M. D. Lamawansa and Mr. Evgeny Stroganov discussed a range of topics devoted to the development of Sri Lanka-Russia trade relations.

Mr. Stroganov commended the Embassy on its initiative of Ceylon tea donations to Russian hospitals treating coronavirus-infected people and assured of the support the Russian Union of Good Producers in boosting of cooperation between Sri Lankan and Russian commercial sectors.
