Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka, Prof Ruwan Ranasinghe successfully concluded a productive visit to the "Let's Travel!" International Tourism Forum organized by the Roscongress held in Moscow from 10 - 15 June 2025. The visit marked a significant step in strengthening Sri Lanka's tourism ties with Russia and expanding cross-border tourism opportunities.

At the invitation of the Russian side 10-13 June 2025 Mr. K. M. G. S. Nalaka Kaluwewe, Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education of Sri Lanka participated in the III International Forum of Ministers of Education "Shaping the Future", which is taking place in Kazan.

Attorney General of Sri Lanka Hon. Parinda Ranasinghe accompanied by the Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka to St. Petersburg Mr. Vagram Zakharyan took part in the work of the XIII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum focused on "Law: Lessons from the Past for the world of the Future."

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation Shobini Gunasekera met with Minister Sergey Cheremin, Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations.

31 May – 03 June 2025 students from Sri Lanka participated in the GoIT.space Olympiad in Nizhny Novgorod region, Russia. The Global Olympiad IT for secondary school students is dedicated to information technology, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

In celebration of National Vesak Week, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Institute of Asian and African Studies at Moscow State University organized a special joint event, fostering cultural exchange and promoting understanding of Buddhist teachings.
