A minute of silence is observed at the VIII Moscow Conference on International Security in remembrance of the Easter Sunday Massacre victims
On April 24, 2019 H. E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka, Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia, was a panelist at the Special Session No. 1, devoted to ""Color" Revolutions and "Hybrid" Warfare: General and Specific Features" in the framework of the VIII Moscow Conference on International Security.
During the session, the attendees observed a minute of silence in remembrance of the victims of bomb explosions that occurred in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, April 21.

In the evening of April 23, 2019 young Sri Lankans, currently studying at universities in Moscow, came to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia to pay tribute to the victims of eight bomb blasts that occurred in various parts of Sri Lanka on April 21.

On April 23, 2019 VIII Moscow Conference on International Security, organized annually by Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, started its three-day event. At the Welcome cocktail reception the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Colonel General Alexander Fomin expressed words of condolence and sympathy to people of New Zealand, India, Sri Lanka, who had suffered acts of terrorism most recently. In his speech General Fomin noted that peace is still not solid and Russia is committed to “the eradication of terrorism from the face of Earth”.
