19th August, 2016 in Minsk, Republic of Belarus, the 2nd Session of Sri Lanka-Belarus Joint Commission on Trade & Economic Cooperation successfully concluded with the signature of the bilateral Protocol summarizing the directions of further development of economic projects and trade ties between the countries. 

 
The third round of consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and Belarus were held in Minsk on 22 August 2016. The Sri Lankan delegation for the Consultations was headed by Mrs Grace Asirvatam, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Mr Valentin Rybakov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

 

 

On August 18, 2016, Mr. T. M. K. B. Tennekoon, Secretary, Ministry of Industry & Commerce of Sri Lanka, started his working visit to the Republic of Belarus, with bilateral meetings with Mr. Leonid Zayats, Minister of Agrifood, and Mr. Alexandre Ogorodnikov, Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus.
