Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage visited the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) to participate in the Ceremony of signing MOU between RUDN University and Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine.

End of February – beginning of March 2022 Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage brought three high level delegations from Moscow to Colombo. The visits were symbolic as this year Sri Lanka and the Russian Federation mark 65^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.

On April 7-10, 2022 Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage visited Kursk at the invitation of the Governor of Kursk region H.E. R.V. Starovoit and Rector of Kursk State Medical University Prof. V.A. Lazarenko.

24 – 27 March 2022 Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, made an official visit to Vologda region at the invitation of the Governor H.E. Mr. Oleg Kuvshinnikov  in order to explore its commercial, investment, agricultural and cultural potential and seek opportunities for cooperation.

On 22 March 2022, the Embassy organized an online meeting between the Moscow State University of Sports and the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine. The meeting was headed by Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia and gathered Prof. Ranjana W. Seneviratne, Vice-Chancellor of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, and PhD Nataliya Tkachenko, Vice-Rector of the Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism, and the staff of the two Universities.
