End of February – beginning of March 2022 Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage brought three high level delegations from Moscow to Colombo. The visits were symbolic as this year Sri Lanka and the Russian Federation mark 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.

On 22 March 2022, the Embassy organized an online meeting between the Moscow State University of Sports and the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine. The meeting was headed by Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia and gathered Prof. Ranjana W. Seneviratne, Vice-Chancellor of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, and PhD Nataliya Tkachenko, Vice-Rector of the Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism, and the staff of the two Universities.

The Embassy in the Russian Federation has facilitated a meeting with the representatives of the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs (MAE) on 23rd of March 2022.

 The Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs is the oldest interregional public organization of business leaders and businessmen in Russia, founded in 1989. Entrepreneurs from 51 regions of Russia and foreign countries are represented in more than 50 committees of the Association. Branches and representative offices of the Association work not only in Russian regions and CIS countries, but also in Africa (Morocco), Asia (China, Vietnam, Mongolia, Cambodia), America (Cuba; USA: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Dalaver) and others.
