Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Prof. M.D. Lamawansa accompanied by Gp. Capt. Uditha Piyasena, Defence Attache - Counsellor paid visit to the Security Council of the Russian Federation. The guests were received by Mr. Dmitry Valdaev, Senior Director for International Security Affairs.

H.E. Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Moldova and an Embassy delegation comprised of Mr. Mohamed Anas, DHM, Minister Counsellor, Dr Thamaramala Kannangara, spouse of H.E. the Ambassador, and Ms. Olessya Romanova, PA to Ambassador paid their first visit to the Republic of Moldova.

H.E. Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Moldova presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Moldova H.E. Madame Maia Sandu on 12 of February 2021.

On a snowy winter day, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow celebrated 73rd Independence Day in a befitting manner at the Embassy Premises on the 4th of February 2021. This year, the event went live due to restricted in person participation.
