The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, represented by CEO, Mr. Manjula de Silva, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Armenia, represented by the Executive Director, Mr. Andranik Aleksanyan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) virtually on Friday, April 30, 2021. Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow receives Mufti of Moscow and delegation from Muslim community for Iftar
On April 28, 2021 on behalf of Ambassador H.E. Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Mohamed Anas organized Iftar ceremony for the Chief Imam of Moscow Cathedral Mosque and the Muslim delegation comprised of Imams and representatives of business community. The event took place in the official Residence of Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Moscow.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Anas underlined the historically established friendly relations between Sri Lanka and the Russian Federation, and close ties between the Embassy of Sri Lanka and Moscow Cathedral Mosque, which stand too close to each other.

Sri Lanka Seeks to Enhance Links with Uzbekistan
The official visit of the Sri Lankan Embassy delegation headed by Ambassador H.E. Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, to the Republic of Uzbekistan included a number of high-level meetings in the Ministries in Tashkent during a 4-day run.
Thus, Ambassador H.E. Prof. Lamawansa held a fruitful discussion with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan H.E. Mr. Sidikov Furkhat. During the conversation, topical issues of the development of Sri Lanka - Uzbekistan relations of friendship both in bilateral and international arena, as well as potential areas for strengthening interaction between the two countries were considered. The meeting was also attended by and Head of Foreign Ministry Directorate overseeing the countries of South Asia, Middle East and Africa Mr. Eshonov, and the Head of South Asia Division Mr. B.Sharipov from the Uzbekistan side, and the 1st Secretary Ms. Nirosha Herath and PA to Ambassador Ms. Olessya Romanova from the Embassy side.
Ambassador Prof. M.D. Lamawansa enhances bilateral and multilateral collaboration in Uzbekistan
On the second day of his official visit to Uzbekistan, Ambassador H.E. Prof. M.D. Lamawansa met Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic Mr. Azizov. During the meeting the parties briefed on the state and prospects of Health Sectors and medical education in both counties, exchanged their views on the matters of mutual concern, including primary healthcare, rehabilitation, control on Covid-19 and investment opportunities. Potential areas for collaboration were also touched upon.
