On July 23, 2020 Ambassador-Designate of Sri Lanka to Russia professor M.D. Lamawansa received Mr. Alexander Novokhatsky, Director General of Europa-Asia Trade LLC, Mr. Igor Strugov, Director of International Development Department, Europa-Asia Trade LLC, and Mr. Sergey Korsun, Assistant to the State Duma Depyty. Mr. Mohamed Anas, Counsellor and HOC, Ms. Nirosha Herath, Second Secretary (Political) and Ms. Chathurika Perera, Second Secretary (Commercial) were also present at the discussion.

On July 23, 2020 Ambassador–Designate of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation prof. M.D. Lamawansa accompanied by Mr. Mohamed Anas, Counsellor and HOC, Ms. Chathurika Perera, Second Secretary (Commercial) and Ms. Nirosha Herath, Second Secretary (Political) paid a courtesy call on Ambassador of Armenia to Russia H.E. Vardan Toganyan. Ambassador-Designate M.D. Lamawansa is concurrently accredited to the Republic of Armenia.

Foreign Secretary Ravinatha Aryasinha said that the investment environment in Sri Lanka for Indian investors is conducive not only because of its stable leadership but also due to the strong bilateral relationship between Sri Lanka and India.
