At the request of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow organized an online introductory meeting with the University of Kelaniya on 29 April 2022.

Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka, Prof. Ekaterina Kameneva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Financial University, Prof. H. M. Nawarathna Banda, Head of the Department of Economics of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Kelaniya and staff members of the two Universities participated in the meeting.

Financial University, one of the leading Russian Economics Universities expressed strong interest in collaboration with its Sri Lankan partner on student and academic exchange, joint research on Economics and Mass Communication, joint educational programs and signing a Memorandum of Understanding.

The sides agreed to maintain contacts and work on formalization and development of cooperation for mutual benefit of both sides.
