On June 24, 2022 the newly appointed Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Armenia Prof. Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage presented her credentials to the President of Republic of Armenia H.E. Vahagn Khachaturian. President Khachaturian congratulated the Ambassador on taking office and wished her fruitful work for the further development of bilateral relations.

Ambassador Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage stressed that she would take every effort to enhance bilateral relations.
The official ceremony was followed by a comprehensive discussion. The interlocutors agreed that there is significant potential for cooperation in the areas of tourism, trade, education, culture, science and high technology.
Preceding the Ceremony of presenting Credentials, H.E. the Ambassador handed over the open copies of her Letters of Credence to Deputy Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Mnatsakan Safaryan.
Sri Lankan envoy held meetings with Head of Asia and Pacific Department and Deputy Chief of State Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and had a discussion at Committee for tourism, Ministry of Economy of Armenia.
