Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was founded in 1934 and since then has become one of the largest and long established world known institutions with its unique multidisciplinary academic and research activities focused on educating career diplomats and provision of scientific and political support for Russian foreign policy decision-making and promotion of Russia's interests and role on the world arena.

On February 26, a.c. a meeting of the First Vice-Rector T. A. Zakaurtseva and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka took place in the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the conversation T.A. Zakaurtseva spoke about the Academy's activity to educate the professional staff for Russian Diplomatic service, current educational programmes of the Academy as well as about opportunities to arrange educational process to train and up-grade the skills of the foreign diplomats.
The Ambassador's spouse Madame Sanja Jayatilleka, secretary to the Ambassador Mrs. O.N. Romanova, interpreter of the Embassy Mr. M.Y. Chirkov, Vice-Rector of the Academy for Research Mr. O.P.Ivanov, Aide to Rector Mr. O.G. Karpovich, and leading specialist for Protocol and Public Relations Mr. A.K.Nesterov participated in the meeting.
