Subsequent to the visit of Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation, to the Republic of Dagestan, on 06 September 2022 there was held an online meeting between the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka and the Dagestan State University, Russia.

In the framework of preparation of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) visit to Sri Lanka to develop Buddhist-related education in Russia, on 02 September 2022 the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation organized a series of meetings with representatives of Sri Lankan Universities, which expressed their wish to make an input to development of the programme, as well as the University Grants Commission.

Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, visited the city of Kursk and participated in a series of events organized by the Kursk State Medical University (KSMU), where more than 200 Sri Lankan students obtain their higher education.
H. E. the Ambassador held a meeting with the Administration of the KSMU, visited its most important sights, such as accreditation and simulation center, anatomy theater, etc., participated as a special guest in the ceremony dedicated to the first day of the new academic year and presented international freshmen with their student IDs.

Sri Lankan Ambassador H.E. Prof. Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage continues to work closely with Russian Association of International Cooperation and Russia-Sri Lanka Friendship Society in particular in order to strengthen longstanding friendship ties between Sri Lanka and Russia and to enhance cooperation in a wide range of spheres.

On August 25, 2022, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage paid a courtesy call on Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation H.E. Vagharshak Harutyunyan.
The Heads of Mission discussed developments in cooperation in different spheres including trade and economy, education, tourism, culture etc. Both Ambassadors see great potential for expanding interaction in the areas of common interest and expressed willingness to strengthen the bilateral relations between the countries.

The Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka has launched the "Partnership Finder" (PF), a new strategic initiative aimed at attracting investments and facilitating partnerships between existing investors and entrepreneurs in the country as well as new entrepreneurs and innovators.
