On 8th June H.E. the Ambassador, Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage had a discussion with the Russian National Investment Industrial Bank exploring the possibility of devising a correspondent relationship with the People's Bank of Sri Lanka.

On 07 June 2022 Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, welcomed in the Embassy a delegation from the Institute of Asian and African Studies under the Moscow State University, headed by Prof. Alexey Maslov, Acting Director of the Institute. Representatives of the Department of International Cooperation, Department of Indian Philology and Department of South Asian History also joined the meeting.

On 01 June 2022, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow organized a meeting between the Minsk State Linguistic University and the University of Kelaniya to discuss the prospects of cooperation in the field of linguistics and pedagogy between the two Universities.

111An event devoted to agriculture tourism, conducted in the Republic of Karelia on 27th May 2022 attracted about 200 participants from the Russian Federation and other countries to share the experience and discuss the perspectives and challenges of agriculture and eco-tourism.

17 – 19 May 2022 Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, made a working visit to the city of Cheboksary, Chuvash Republic, Russia at the invitation of the Governor H.E. Mr. Oleg Nikolev  in order to explore opportunities for cooperation in trade and economic, healthcare, tourism, education and cultural spheres. Mr. Vladimir Polozkov, Secretary General of Russian Association of International Cooperation and Deputy Chairman of Russia-Sri Lanka Friendship Society also participated in the programme of the visit.
