On September 17, 2024, Ambassador P.M. Amza, Head of Sri Lanka Mission in Moscow participated at the Official Inauguration Ceremony of the 30th Edition of OTDYKH Fair and addressed the audience along with the Venezuela Minister of Tourism, Egypt Ambassador and representatives of Russian Federal and regional authorities.
In his welcome remarks, Ambassador P.M. Amza emphasized the long history of friendly links established between Sri Lanka and Russia that served as the prelude for the development of tourism cooperation. Ambassador Amza emphasized the diversity of tourist attractions from sun & beach to extreme adventures discovering nature and rich culture of Sri Lanka.
Being the leading Russian travel trade fair for inbound and outbound markets, OTDYKH brings together dozens of key players from every area of the tourism sector, and provides ample opportunities for networking, business meetings and negotiations at exhibitors' stands.
Earlier this day, Ambassador P.M. Amza officially opened the Sri Lanka Pavilion at the OTDYKH/LEISURE Exhibition Platform. Sri Lanka regularly participates in the Fair under the auspices of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau. This year, Sri Lanka national pavilion gathered 15 leading stakeholders of Sri Lankan travel market.
Ms. Sasika Jayaweera, Assistant Director, SLTPB, Ms. Ruvini Munidasa, DCM, Mr. Chamila Jayarathna, Minister of the Embassy were also participating at the event.
