The Embassy in Moscow in collaboration with the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry conducted an interactive B2B session for the delegates arrived to Moscow for participation in the International Food Fair Prodexpo 2025 on 5th February 2025.
Chargé d' Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow, Mr. Chamila Jayarathna opened the event with expressing his gratitude to the hosts for the opportunity to present Sri Lankan companies engaged in tea production and export.
Participants presented the potentials of the Ceylon tea as one of the best in the world. The companies; Imperial Teas Group, Divine Nature Teas (Pvt) Ltd, Elpitiya Plantations PLC presented their products, showed videos featuring the entire technological process of growing, harvesting and producing tea. They indicated interest in cooperation with Russian retailers, noting that they can present products both under their own brand and under the private label of chains.
Mr. Vladislav Mishchenko, Vice President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry for International and Interregional Activities expressed optimism about potentials of Ceylon tea promotion in Russia. He was supported by representatives of Moscow business participating in the meeting. They emphasized that if tea is grown and produced in accordance with modern environmental requirements, it has excellent prospects on the Russian market, since tea consumption is traditional for the population of our country.
