On February 27, 2019 the Sri Lankan business and professional community in Moscow held a dinner for H. E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, Madame Sanja Jayatilleka, as well as other staff members at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia.
The community was represented by businessmen and professionals, among whom were Mr. Saman Jayamaha, Dr. Janaka Hamangoda, Mr. Hiran Karunaratne, Mr. Murad Careem, Mr. Nishantha Perera, Mr. Ganan Ganasenthan, Dr. Priyantha Bogamuwa, Dr. Tissa Kulatunga, Dr. Ranjan Fernando, Dr. Sampath Nagasinghe, Mr. Ajith Malwatte, Mr. Sanath Abeysekara, Mr. Upul Kariyawasam, and Mr. Primal Fernando.

On March 1, 2019 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka received his Palestinian counterpart, H.E. Abdel Hafiz Nofal, previously Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Republic of South Africa, and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of National Economy.

On March 1, 2019 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka had a productive luncheon discussion with Senator Konstantin Kosachev, PhD in Law, Russian politician and diplomat, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federation Council (Russian Parliament's uUpper House), who was the disciple and aide to the prominent Russian Foreign Minister, later Prime Minister and Academician Evgeny Primakov. Doctor Kosachev previously served as head of Rossotrudnichestvo (the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation).
