An official delegation from the Sri Lankan Embassy in Moscow, Russian Federation, with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Belarus made an official visit to Belarus since H.E. Prof. M. D. Lamawansa assumed duties as the Ambassador to Russia in May 2020.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation with the support of the Sri Lanka Export development Board organized an awareness webinar and provided the essential unique information about Ceylon cinnamon to the Russian Spices importers and wholesalers, highlighting the differences between the only True Cinnamon in the world and other varieties of cinnamon presented today in the Russian market.

The procedure for inbound travellers to Sri Lanka, introduced since March 2020 is hereby revised as follows, based on the joint decision made by the Foreign Ministry, the Department of Immigration and the Civil Aviation Authority and as agreed by the Presidential Task Force for Economic Revival and Poverty Alleviation.

The following procedure will take effect from 26 December 2020.

More than 430 students and academicians of the Moscow Governance Yury Luzhkov University joined the online lecture of Prof. M. D. Lamawansa, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, through Zoom, Vkontakte, Youtube and Facebook. The lecture was opened by Mr. Vasily Fiveysky, Rector of the Moscow Governance University.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saint-Petersburg arranged an awareness program for Russian business community on Investment, trade and tourism opportunities in Sri Lanka during the Round Table on cooperation conducted online format on 3 December 2020. A wide range of exclusive products inherent for Sri Lanka and advantages of investments were presented during this session by the Export development Board and Board of Investments of Sri Lanka.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia organized an introductory meeting between the University of Peradeniya and the Russian State Agrarian University.
