Ambassador P. M. Amza, Head of the Sri Lankan Mission in the Russian Federation, made a visit to the Republic of Buryatia, eastern region of Russia, on the invitation of the Administration of the Republic to attend the Second International Buddist Forum in Ulan Ude. On August 13, 2024, Ambassador P.M. Amza had a meeting with His Excellency Aleksey Tsydenov, Head of the Republic of Buryatia. The discussion centered on a wide area of cooperation in various spheres, including cooperation in Buddhism.

On August 08, 2024, Ambassador P.M. Amza, Head of the Sri Lankan Mission in the Russian Federation, hosted a working lunch at the official Sri Lanka Residence. The General Secretary of the Russian Association for International Cooperation Mr. Vladimir Polozkov, President of Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Vladimir Platonov, Chairman of the Board of Russia - Sri Lanka Friendship Society Mr. Pyotr Ryzhkov and Head of Commission on Russia-Sri Lanka Cooperation Mr. Sattar Mia took part in the meeting. Embassy was also represented by Ms. Ruvini K. Munidasa, HOC/Counsellor (Political), Mr. Chamila Jayarathna, Minister (Education) and Gp Capt Sanoj Jayaratne, Defence Attache.

On July 31, 2024 Ambassador P.M. Amza, Head of Sri Lankan Mission in Moscow visited the biggest thinktank in Russia – the National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) named after Ye.M. Primakov, the outstanding Russian former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
