Officials of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia participated at a Meeting Organized by Transmashholding, the Leading Russian Manufacturer of Locomotives and Rail Equipment, along with a Group of Foreign Diplomats in Moscow
On November 21, the Transmashholding company hosted a group meeting in the framework of the Russian Foreign Ministry State Protocol Department's initiative to introduce diplomatic corps to the Russian Ministries, Agencies and State corporations. The meeting was attended by Ambassadors and other high-ranking diplomats of the foreign Missions in Moscow.

Russian Minister of Defence Sergei Shoigu Sends Congratulations to Newly Appointed Sri Lankan State Minister and Secretary of Defence
Hon. Sergei Shoigu, the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation sent a congratulatory letter to Hon. Lakshman Senewiratne on the latter's appointment as the State Minister of Defence of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. A similar note was forwarded by Hon. Col. Gen. A. Fomin, Deputy Minister of Defence of Russia to Mr. Hemasiri Fernando, Sri Lankan Secretary of Defence.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia was informed by the relevant Russian authorities of the planned expansion of the regular flight program between the Russian capital and Colombo.

On November 15th Sri Lanka's Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka made his first visit to the Russian Parliament, starting from its highest international relations authority – H. E. Dr. Constantin I. Kosachev, Ambassador and Chair of Committee for International Affairs at the Federation Council, the upper chamber of the Federal Assembly – the official name of the Russian Parliament.
