University Grants Commission hosts a meeting with Ural Federal University
On 24 January 2023, at the request of Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, the University Grants Commission (UGC), represented by its Chairman, Senior Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, organized a meeting between the Rector of the Ural Federal University (UrFU) and representatives of Sri Lankan Universities.

Office of Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka opens in Minsk, Republic of Belarus
On January 11-14, 2023, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Belarus H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage visited Minsk. One of the highlights of the visit was the official opening of the office of Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in the Republic of Belarus. The ceremony took place on January 12, 2023. The delegation of the Embassy was received by a newly appointed Hon. Consul Prof. Dmitry Ruzanov.

Ural Federal University signs Memorandum of Understanding with NSBM Green University
