Hon. A. Aravindh Kumar, State Minister of Education of Sri Lanka, took part in the II International Forum of Ministers of Education Shaping the Future, in Kazan, Russia, 09 – 12 June 2024. The Forum United more than 150 delegates from 40 countries of CIS, Latin America, Africa and Asia to discuss industry problems, exchange experience and identify areas for cooperation.

Foreign Minister Ali Sabry undertook an official visit to Russia at the invitation of his counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation from 10-11 June 2024 to attend the BRICS Foreign Ministers' meeting with the developing countries held in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. The meeting was attended by high level representatives of 22 countries including 17 Foreign Ministers.

Dr. Seetha Arambepola, Hon. State Minister of Health of Sri Lanka, visited on 31 May 2024 the Moscow University for Industry and Finance Synergy (Synergy University), the largest private University in Russia with more than 20 000 foreign students from 90 countries and a branch in Dubai.

Dr. Seetha Arambepola, Hon. State Minister of Health of Sri Lanka paid a visit to the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) on 30 May 2024. RUDN University is one of the largest Russian Universities in Russia, where over 1 000 Sri Lankan students have graduated in a wide range of majors within more than 60 years of strong relationship with Sri Lanka.

In the course of her official visit to Russia, on 30 May 2024 Dr. Seetha Arambepola, Hon. State Minister of Health of Sri Lanka, visited the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, the oldest medical university in Russia, which has been providing higher education to students from Sri Lanka since 1980.
