On 15 March 2023, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia concurrently accredited to the Republic of Belarus organized an introductory online meeting between the Belarusian State Medical University (BSMU), the University of Peradeniya, the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine and the University of Moratuwa.

On 13 March 2023, the Chuvash State Pedagogical University (ChSPU), Russia, visited the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the framework of their official visit to Sri Lanka.

In the framework of the official visit of the Chuvash State Pedagogical University (ChSPU), Russia, to Sri Lanka, which took place from 12 to 19 March 2023, the ChSPU representatives visited the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine and held the ceremony of the Russian Cultural and Language Centre opening.

On 13 March 2023 Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, visited the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation to meet Hon. Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of Russia. The parties noted that the decades of bilateral cooperation were characterized by mutual understanding and the desire to strengthen cooperation.
