On March 17th The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau have conducted a large-scale tourism promotional event in the frame of the official visit of the Chairman of the Bureau for participation in the international Travel Fair MITT 2023, which was held in Moscow from March 16 to 18, 2023.

On 26 April 2023, in the framework of the Forum of Rectors of Russian and Foreign Universities held within the programme of the XIII Eurasian Economic Youth Forum in the city of Ekaterinburg, Russia, the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine (GWUIM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ural State University of Economics (USUE).

For the third year in a row, on 22 April 2023, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia together with the Marfino Center for Culture and Leisure and the Sri Lankan community in Russia organized a Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival in the Moscow-area.
The event gathered around 200 guests including students of the Marfino Center, locals of the Marfino village, Sri Lankan students and representatives of Sri Lankan community in Russia. All the visitors were able to participate in various outside competitions and contests, such as eyeing the blind elephant, sack run, breaking the pot, tug of war, pillow fighting and others.

With the support of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Russia the Federation Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka established good link with the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. H.E. the Ambassador, Prof. Ms. Janitha A. Liyanage opened an online meeting held on 21st of April 2023, welcoming the participants from both sides. The Federation Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka was represented by Mr. Kirthi Gunawardane, President of the FCCISL and deputy Secretary General Tilan Wijesuriya.
