On 20 November, 2023 Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, visited the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotridnichestvo), and held a meeting with its Head, Mr. Yevgeny Alexandrovich Primakov.

At the initiative of the Russian Foundation for the Promotion of Buddhist Education and Research, which is headed by Prof. Alexey Maslov, Director of the Institute of Asian and African Studies of the Moscow State University, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow organized online meetings with the representatives of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and the University of Ruhuna, which expressed their interest to develop cooperation in the sphere of Buddhist research and education.

On November 14, 2023, the Transport week, an annual industry event started its 3-day run in Gostiny Dvor, Moscow. The Forum included conferences devoted to the development and functioning of automobile, aviation, railway, sea and river transport. The exhibition, in its turn, clearly demonstrated novelties and achievements of the industry enterprises.

On November 15, 2023, H.E. the Ambassador Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage visited an exclusive event in the framework of the International Exhibition and Forum "Russia", at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Following the visit of Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, to the Republic of Kalmykia, an online introductory meeting was arranged between the Kalmyk State University and the University of Sri Jayewardenepura on 13 October 2023.
