Grateful to H.E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, who discovers possibilities for collaboration in different Regions of the Russian Federation apart from its capital city, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka( FCCISL) with the support of the Export Development Board and National Gem and Jewelry Authority held a business forum in Colombo attended by a Russian Business Delegation, attracting more than 250 exporters. The event was honored by the presence of Acting Additional Secretary of the Foreign Ministry, Mrs. Manisha Gunasekera, Additional Secretary ( public Enterprises and restructuring ) of Ministry of Industry, Mr. Rangith Wimalasooriya, Chairperson of Export development Board, Mr. Suresh De Mel and trade section of the Embassy of the Russian Fderation in Sri Lanka.

On July 12, 2022 Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Prof. Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage attended the official opening of the Buddhist Pagoda Shwezigon - the cultural center of Myanmar at the invitation of Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar H.E. U Lwin Oo, and Director of Ethnomir park-museum in the Kaluga region Mr. Ruslan Bairamov.
Ambassador H.E. Prof. Liyanage was also invited to participate in the Ceremony of blessing the "sacred diamond bud and ornamental blade" before it was hoisted on top of the Pagoda.

On June 25, 2022 Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage payed her 2nd visit to Kursk region.
In the framework of her visit, Ambassador Liyanage attended the International Korenskaya Fair, where Sri Lanka was represented by Ceylon Tea.
H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage took part with the welcome remarks at the ceremonial event held by the Governor of Kursk region H.E. Starovoit for Heads of Diplomatic Missions and high level officials.
