Ambassador Amza visits regional office of MFA in St. Petersburg
On June 28, 2024, Ambassador P.M. Amza, Head of Sri Lankan Mission in the Russian Federation, accompanied by Hon. Consul of Sri Lanka in St. Petersburg and North-West Federal District Mr. Vagram Zakharyan, payed a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Vladimir Zapevalov, the Head of the regional office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in St. Petersburg.
Ambassador P.M. Amza discusses Sri Lanka’s cooperation with the Leningrad Region
On June 28, 2024, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Leningrad Region, President of the regional Association of Employers "Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Leningrad Region A.F. Gabitov with Ambassador P. M. Amza, Head of Sri Lankan Mission in Russia. Honorary Consul of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Saint Petersburg V. Y. Zakharyan and Head of the International Cooperation Department of the External Relations Committee of the Leningrad Region E. A. Rudakov also took part in the meeting.
High Level Delegation led by State Minister Tharaka Balasuriya visits the Russian Federation
A high-level delegation led by State Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya visited the Russian Federation from 26 to 27 June 2024 and had discussions with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrey Rudenko and the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Colonel General A. V. Fomin regarding Sri Lankans who are deployed in the Russian Armed Forces on contractual basis.

Ambassador P. M. Amza participated in the Ceremonial Opening of the permanent exhibition Peoples of South Asia (Nikolaevsky Hall) of the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera) of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on 17 June 2024.
Foreign Minister Ali Sabry was received at the Embassy by Ambassador P. M. Amza
Foreign Minister Ali Sabry who is on an official visit to the Russian Federation was received at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow by Ambassador P M Amza on 12 June. During an interactive session with the staff, the Foreign Minister highlighted the time-tested relations between Sri Lanka and Russia and stressed on the importance of working towards the elevation of the friendly bilateral ties. Minister also emphasized the need to cohesively work for the betterment of the people of Sri Lanka.
