On February 28, 2024 H.E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage accompanied by the Minister of the Embassy Mr. Pandula De Zoysa visited the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. The delegation was received by the Deputy Minister of Energy Mr. Sergey Mochalnikov.

Following a visit of Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, to the Republic of Buryatia, the Embassy organized an online introductory meeting between the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine (GWUIM) and the Dorji Banzarov Buryat State University (BSU) on 06 March 2024.

Seven students of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine (GWUIM) became winners of the International Distance Olympiad in Russian Language and Regional Studies among Foreign Citizens, which was hosted in November – December 2023 by the Kalmyk State University.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Sri Lanka organized a familiarization tour for the Heads of Moscow Hospitals and Policlinics undergoing MPA programme Healthcare Management in the Moscow Government University from 11th to 18th February 2024.

On 15 February 2024, H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia and Mr. Pandula De Zoysa, Minister of the Embassy, met with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCI RF) Mr. Sergey Katyrin.

On 12 February 2024, Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia took part in the Awarding Ceremony of Russian Language Certificates organized by the University of Vavuniya.
