On 06 December 2022, in the framework of the events dedicated to celebration of the anniversary of the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera) in Saint Petersburg, a special ceremony was arranged, in the course of which Mr. Vagram Zakharyan, Honorary Consul of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in the Northwestern Federal District of the Russian Federation, presented to the Museum a number of exhibit items on behalf of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia.

Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation in coordination with the Ministry of Health of Sri Lanka, the office of the Additional Secretary (Medical Services), Ministry of Health, and the University of Peradeniya organized a visit of a training team from the Moscow Metropolitan Governance Yury Luzhkov University to Sri Lanka on 27 November – 03 December 2022.

Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow is pleased to announce that in terms of the statistics pertaining to tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka in November 2022, the Russian Federation has become the number one tourist traffic source of Sri Lanka.
According to the tourism sector statistics sources of Sri Lanka, in the month of November 2022, tourist arrivals from the Russian Federation accounted for 13,820, which constituted 23% contribution to the total number of 59,759 tourist arrivals.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation hosted on 18 November 2022 an online meeting between the Saint Petersburg State University (SPBU), Russia and the University of Kelaniya.

With coordination of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation, and participation of Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Moscow, a meeting was held between the Kursk State Medical University (KSMU), Russia, and the University of Moratuwa on 18 November 2022.

At the invitation of Prof. Irina Kraeva, Rector of the Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU), on 18 November 2022 Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, paid a visit to the University, which specializes in training translators and interpreters.
