On May 29, 2023 during her first official visit to Astana, H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage paid a courtesy call on the headquarters of CICA.
The Ambassador Prof. Janitha Liyanage was received by the Deputy Secretary General Ms. Chi Fang. Her Excellency expressed interest in enhancing cooperation in the spheres of tourism, green energy, trade and education.

On 18th May 2023, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow took part in the International Forum "Best Investment Projects 2023" delivering a presentation with a main focus on Port City in Colombo, Hambantota Industrial Park, projects coming under UDA and other lucrative investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau made Sri Lanka's representation at the International Travel Fair "LETO – 2023" in Ural Region on 7th April 2023. This tourism fair is considered as the major travel show in the Ural region which is a strategically important region in terms of bilateral cooperation in economic affairs.

At the initiative of Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, an online meeting was held on 24 May 2023 between Innopolis University and Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT).

With the support of the Embassy in Moscow, relations have been established between the Arava pvt ltd company and the Russian importer of coconut products "Biotechnologies" - the largest supplier of products in the hobby segment for home and garden.
